*** O sempre incrível Beirut está com boas novidades. Zach Condon e sua turma anunciaram para 18 de abril o lançamento de “A Study of Losses”, novo álbum que terá nada menos do que 18 faixas. O projeto foi inspirado no romance alemão “Verzeichnis einiger Verluste”, de Judith Schalansky. Além da já divulgada “Caspain Tiger”, agora conhecemos também o novo single, “Guericke’s Unicorn, com vídeo estrelando a Kompani Giraff. O novo álbum será o sucessor do bem bom “Hadsel”, lançado no final de 2023.

*** Quem também está com single novo é o Japanese Breakfast, banda liderada pela adorável cantora e compositora Michelle Zauner. A nova música se chama “Mega Circuit” e faz parte do álbum “For Melancholy Brunettes (& Sad Women)”, que será lançado oficialmente no dia 21 de março. O disco é o primeiro da banda em quatro anos e sucede o elogiado “Jubilee”. Outra faixa que está no disco é “Orlando in Love”, que tem tocado bastante nas rádios indies por aí. “Mega Circuit”pode ser ouvida abaixo.
*** Para fechar, Kevin Barnes, um dos sujeitos mais inventivos e autênticos da música alternativa deste século, contou que vai celebrar os 20 anos do aclamado “The Sunlandic Twins”, um dos álbuns essenciais da discografia do Of Montreal, agora com o relançamento da obra. Em dezembro, ele já havia iniciado uma turnê para homenagear o disco. A nova versão turbinada traz todo o projeto original remasterizado e ainda um segundo volume com gravações extras, incluindo a inédita “Family Nouveau” e uma gravação otimizada de “Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games”, faixa que tem um carinho especial no coração dos fãs. Outras diversas versões remix e um registro ao vivo em um show na pequena cidade de Norfolk (Canadá), de 2006, completam o pacotão do disco quádruplo.
